I’ve Moved!

November 20, 2008

So I’m sure that most people have noticed that the site has been offline for a few days. There’s a reason for that, which I will get to shortly. But first, let me just say this:

I AM NO LONGER BLOGGING HERE

In fact, I am blogging at a new site I have just finished setting up: kennethhynek.net. A full explanation for the reasons behind the move can be found here.

That said, this is not the end of . My wife has expressed interest in taking over blogging at this domain, and I am working to make sure that she gets set up here as soon as possible.

Also, my profound apologies for the modification to the site face; the move was not as seamless as I would have hoped, and many of the image files for this theme, and in the gallery, were corrupted during the course of their evacuation from my previous web host’s servers. Until such time as I have repaired them, I’ve put a clean-looking template in place of the previous one.

Update: for the purposes of further traffic shaping, new posts from kennethhynek.net will be excerpted below. Full articles can be read at the new blog.

Pic of the Day #32

October 22, 2006

So I have this friend who periodically orders s from this newly-opened winery somewhere in southern . The winery is called Fieldstone Fruit Wines, if you are interested, O Reader. And yes, they will ship orders.

Where was this taken?

This is the , a semi-sweet dessert wine that I find goes best by the ounce, as opposed to in a large glass (although given the appropriate company, I might be willing to alter my perspective on this matter).

The shotglass in question is something I picked up when I finished , a sort of commemorative glass adorned with the logos of the Electrical, Computer, and Engineering Physics engineering disciplines.

And shooting the liquid in the glass makes for some interesting study in how light reflects, if I do say so myself. The one logo, especially, is quite amusingly distorted.

It’s funny…I usually try and avoid over-warming in my photos, but there’s something about fine alcohol in a glass that practically demands a warm tint in a picture.

Speaking of fine alcohol: try this beer if you find it in your local liquor store.
