Catholic education is better

Students who go through Catholic schools emerge better-prepared, and the schools themselves do more to help “children overcome the demographic roadblocks to learning”.

The data is for , but I wouldn’t be surprised if this proved to be true in other provinces.

Subsequently, Rotberg was condemned as “racist” in a press release from Chapters proper, and his book was banned from the chain of stores…after a hijab-wearing part-time clerk falsely claimed that Rotberg asserted that “all erners are terrorists.”

At any rate, Rotberg has started a blog to chronicle the ongoing legal matters pertaining to his suit against Chapters. Lend him your support if you are able, O Reader!

Shaukat responds!

tagged , , , , , , , , , , , and

As predicted*, , nuclear power plant worker Shaukat Khawja has responded to my post from yesterday by calling me a Zionist. Dude’s gotta get some new material…

…anyhow, since it seems that Shaukat is the only one who ever really comments on his blog (there was a Jewish guy who posted a few comments here and there, but I haven’t seen any new material from him and can only assume that he’s packed up and moved on rather than attempting to sort through the lies and stupidity — Shaukat’s death threat against him also stands out as a possible reason for the departure), his follow-on commentary concerning what I said yesterday appeared in a comment on his site. Dude must feel lonely and unloved or something…is there any other reason to be your own sole commentator?

pork.jpg

Anyhow, this post is certified non-halal, as it is accompanied by a byline picture of pork chops. With that in mind, let’s see what Shaukat has to say, shall we?

The other day I received another comment from Kenneth, the Zionist scum at — whining about my post pointing toward the real thugs behind 9/11 — and his great ignorance about Hizb’Allah — the fool doesn’t know that , the US and Canada are the only three countries in the entire world, which have labeled Hizb’Allah a terrorist organization under Jewish Lobby’s pressure.

Now, the Reader may recall that my comment was specifically that is considered to be a terrorist organization in…. I wasn’t commenting on anywhere else in the world because, well, I wasn’t talking about anywhere else in the world. And to be perfectly frank, I don’t care what any other government in the world thinks at the moment — I live in Canada, and Canada is a country which considers Hezbollah to be a terrorist organization. End of story.

Also, Shaukat really needs to learn a thing or three about the blogging platform. As it is, I didn’t leave a comment on his site, but by linking to Rehmatpedia I probably did generate either a trackback or pingback, which is what Shaukat would have seen arrive. These look like comments from an administrative perspective, but are quite different animals indeed.

However, I was surprised Ken did not attach his usual link.

Immature playground mentalities aside, does it sound to anyone else as though Shaukat is disappointed by the absence of porn in correspondence directed to him?

Here is a news item for the fool – in which 500 Canadian has questioned the US ‘official story’ of 9/11.

And here, in turn, is news for Shaukat: 500 Canadians is approximately 0.0015% of the country’s population. Quite frankly, I don’t care one iota what 500 Canadians think — I’m sure one can easily find 500 Canadians who believe that they have personally been anal-probed by aliens. I’m sure one can easily find 500 Canadians who believe that was a myth. I’m even sure that one can easily find 500 Canadians who think that is a legitimate form of discipline for errant daughters.

The point is, the consensus of a few — or even a few hundred — people does not a truth make; there are many people in the world who will gladly, for one deluded reason or another, buy into even the most absurd of conspiracy theories.

Some of them, as Shaukat points out, are even in government:

New Democratic Party Deputy House Leader Libby Davies delivers a Parliamentary Petition signed by over 500 Canadians demanding a new 9/11 investigation, in Canada’s House of Commons during Routine Proceedings at 1:10 pm on June 10, 2008.

“We, the undersigned citizens of Canada draw the attention of the House to the following:

THAT, scientific and eyewitness evidence shows that the 9/11 Commission Report is a fraudulent document and that those behind the report are consciously or unconsciously guilty of covering up what happened on 9/11/2001. This evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that World Trade Center Towers 1, 2 and 7 were brought down by demolition explosives and that the official theory of the towers collapsing from the airplanes and the ensuing fires is irrefutably false.

We further believe that elements within the US government were complicit in the murder of thousands of people on 9/11/2001. This event brought Canada into the so-called “War on Terror,” it changed our domestic and foreign policies for the worse, and it will continue to have negative consequences for us all if we refuse to look at the facts.

THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to:

(1) Immediately launch its own investigation into the events of 9/11/2001 on behalf of the 24 Canadian citizens murdered in .

(2) Act lawfully on the findings of its own investigation by helping to pursue the guilty parties in the international courts.”

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=9625

So what does this prove, exactly, apart from the fact that a few people in Canada’s opposition parties might just be conspiracy nutters and “Troofers”? Well…it proves nothing, really. The various 9/11 conspiracies, especially those surrounding the WTC 7 tower, have been debunked — only madmen — or those who will embrace any convenient lie in pursuit of a strictly pacifist agenda — need cling to them.

And Shaukat — being a fan of Hezbollah — doesn’t strike me as a pacifist.

Sleep tight, Pickering. Your nuclear power plant is in good hands.

Interestingly, I notice that Shaukat goes after me on the basis of my comments about Hezbollah and September 11th conspiracy nonsence. But there was a third component to my posting, which was to call out as bunk his comments that was somehow fair to women, that women under Islam somehow enjoyed higher standards of equality than in the West. Strangely, Shaukat has let this point stand uncontested.

Update: Welcome, Steynians!

* * *

* My prediction was more of a question, to be fair — I wondered how long it would be before Shaukat called me a Zionist again (implication: he was going to call me a Zionist again). The answer, as it turns out, is “about fourteen hours” (assuming that Shaukat’s blog’s timestamps reflect the time-zone difference between Pickering and )

More Rehmatpedia goodness!

tagged , , , , , and

You know, I thought that was classified as a terrorist organization in — is it really such a good thing than an open supporter of said terrorist organization works at a nuclear power generation facility in , ?

That’s right, ladies and gents: Shaukat Khawja is up to his usual tricks.

Let’s review, shall we?

First, he claims that the September 11th attacks were the work of…! Yes, those evil Joooooos were really behind the towers coming down. Because we all know that choice quotes from less-than-sympathetic Israeli politicians remarking that the attacks would be beneficial to U.S./Israel relations positively proves that the Mossad were behind it all. No Muslims were killed in the making of this terrorist attack!

Next, he sings the praises of Hezbollah and celebrates their latest “victory” over Israel. Remember — this guy works at a nuclear power plant. Sleep tight, Pickering!

For a third entry, he pens an article celebrating the “gender equality” that Islam offers. That would probably come as news to this 10-year old girl whose husband was ordered by a court to wait until she is 15 before he propositions her for sex, to these eight women condemned to death by stoning for the crime of adultery (where are the men?), to the young woman whose brother killed her for being a “bad Muslim girl”, and to the two Christian girls who were kidnapped, “forcibly converted” to Islam, and married off.

(Please note that these four examples are all newsbits from within the last five days.)

The most amusing part of Shaukat’s article on women is, I think, that he claims that had only one wife — Khadija. So now Shaukat is lying to us.

I wonder how long it will be before Shaukat calls me a Talmudic Zionist Joooooo hacker again?

Apparently, Saddam did have nukes in development

tagged , , , , , , , , and

So it seems that at least some of the intelligence on which the current war in Iraq was initially based was actually true: did in fact have nuclear materials — specifically, “yellowcake” uranium stores. Over five hundred tons of yellowcake, in fact.

It’s in now.

There is a happy ending. This stuff is not in the hands of terrorists, thanks to President Bush’s actions for which he has been hammered by the left for 5+ years. Reported AP:

The Iraqi government sold the yellowcake to a Canadian uranium producer, ., in a transaction the official described as worth “tens of millions of dollars.” A Cameco spokesman, Lyle Krahn, declined to discuss the price, but said the yellowcake will be processed at facilities in for use in energy-producing reactors.

Maybe we can buy some of that electricity since Senate Democratic Leader refuses to allow his precious Yucca Mountain to be used to store spent nuclear rods.

And apparently that wasn’t all that was found.

I suppose the question could be asked why George W. Bush has allowed the Left to lambaste him for “lying” about i s for the last few years, why the transfer of the relevant materials is only now becoming public. But then, to ask that would be to misunderstand the nature of politics and leadership, especially in . It would be to misunderstand the principles of security as well, for some things are simply too volatile to make known until long after they have transpired. Sometimes the sacrifice one must make is to hold forth in silence, against all slings and arrows, though one’s very name be tarred and stained forever because of it — many, many lives might well hang in the balance.

Keeping something like yellowcake out of the hands of terrorists, and out of the hands of those with ill intent regarding nuclear materials (e.g. ), is something worthy of such silence.

For those who wonder why David Warren is one of my favourite columnists

tagged , , , , , , , , , and

Here are two examples of his salient, clear and rational thinking on issues facing Canada today.

First, on the nature of the committee decision that saw awarded with the :

Like many, many, many Canadians, I took the appointment of Henry Morgentaler to membership in the Order of — proclaimed on “Canada Day” — as a stick in the eye for everything we believe in. As a gratuitous insult to the memory of three million aborted babies.

It was intended as that.

A very dark thing was done, as such things are always done — in a very dark way.

Yet I think it may be for the best, in a longer view of things.

We might often grumble that the “ruling class” in Canada — the smug, self-serving, “progressive” political, legal, academic, and media elites, including that prime example in — belong to some other world than the one from which they suck taxes. But seldom is there an event so stark, that we see them as they are. The Morgentaler award revealed that to so many Canadians.

The whole issue of Morgentaler getting the Order of Canada smacks of duplicity. It was obviously not a popular choice for many Canadians, and (what is more) the Governor General’s office had explicitly denied, back in February of this year, that he was being considered for the award.

The sudden reversal is enough to give one whiplash.

And as noted here and elsewhere, the decision to award Morgentaler — ostensibly for humanism — was not unanimous, a first for the committee that decides who does and does not receive the Order. At every step of the way, it seems, there has been a slippery, eel-like activity that has brought this travesty about, and perhaps that is somehow fitting for someone of Morgentaler’s character.

It’s still repugnant, and tells us something very troubling indeed about those who are “in charge” of this nation.

But then, we knew that much already from the travesty of the s, and Mr. Warren has something very profound to say about them as well:

In the course of this last grim week, the government of quietly announced a huge expansion of the , giving its apparatchiks enhanced powers of intrusion, removing the cap on fines, providing a new class of lawyers to assist in prosecutions, and opening 22 new “hearing and mediation rooms” around the province where these star chambers will conduct their quasi-legal proceedings.

As a writer who does not subscribe to the “politically correct” ideology, it is reasonable to expect that, sooner or later, they will come for me. Of course I also realize that, in making this statement, I will be mocked by the usual leftwing jackals. But in light of what has already happened in this province and country, my assertion is reasonable. Moreover, I write with the sincerity of a man who has already tasted the New Canadian tyranny, and the threat of imprisonment without due process, under the feminist rewrite of Ontario family law.

I was born a free citizen of the Old Canada, and before her I declare, that I will go to jail rather than acknowledge the legitimacy of any “human rights” commission. I invite other journalists and indeed, every other Canadian, to declare likewise.

In the wake of , one could not ask for a more stirring call to action than that; if there is anything left to feel proud of in Canada, it is that some Canadians — like David Warren, like — are still able to articulate a clear moral standard in opposition to the received wisdom of the day, to the wind-blown sentiments of progressivism.

I take Mr. Warren’s closing sentences as my own here.

Update: Welcome, UnAborted readers!

Open bigotry from Rehmat

rehmat-i-dont-have-to-prove.jpg

ist blogger (and , nuclear power plant worker) Shaukat Khawja — also known as Rehmat, owner/operator of the Rehmatpedia blog — has had some very…interesting things to say in the past, but I’ve a feeling that this latest offering of his (put not on his blog but in the IslamUnity.net forums) might just take the cake. If nothing else, it at least confirms a suspicion that I’ve had about the guy for a while: underneath any pretense he might have established about being committed to peace and mercy (the name “Rehmat”, if memory serves, means “mercy” or “kind”), he’s just your typical anti-Jewish bigot.

Choice samples from his latest include:

Jew elites always played a major part in great wars and reactionary movements. They’re known for tricking the both parties in a conflict. For example, Jews funded most of Crusades against Muslims and ; Jew sided on both sides of ; they were behind and Communist Revolution in – and they declared war on Nazi , while 150,000 German Jews were serving Army and some Zionist terrorist groups were having honeymoon with Hitler and Mussolini regimes.

Jew elites, eh? You mean, like this?

jew-elite.jpg

Okay, pery aside, Shaukat is here saying more or less the same thing that got into trouble a couple years back: “Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world”. Now, to be fair, I’m sure that Jews probably did fight in e.g. the American Civil War, and then on both sides. But that is because such conflicts transcend religious considerations — neither the Civil War, nor the French or Russian revolutions or World War II were about religion, and did not have any real religious significance. Even the Crusades were more about politics and territory than they were about religion. And in such conflicts, people of the same religious stripe might well end up on opposite sides of the field of battle.

Case in point: there currently Muslims serving with e.g. forces in , and who do battle with the Muslims in the .

Shaukat claims that he doesn’t need to prove this — or any other — statement made in the list of his that I have linked to, and yet the claim made above is hardly sufficiently self-evident to be able to stand on its own. Where is the evidence of Jewish funding of e.g. the Crusades against their own people?

Nazis never killed six million Jews. It’s 20th century’s biggest hoax – which has only flourished under government protection in several western countries.

Nazis are known for killing several million of Gypsies, Christians and Jews under their rule – but the largest victims were Gypsies. Even museum in now have reduced the figure of Jewish killed by Nazis as 2.5 million.

Ah, denial — pretty much a staple of Islamic discourse, unfortunately.

The problem with it is: the Nazis themselves were reasonably good book-keepers; we know from their own documentation that approximately 6 million Jews were murdered in various ways in the 1930s and 1940s. The figure of 2.5 million Jews that Shaukat gives is reflective of the number of Jews killed in Poland alone. And again, many of these deaths were documented and/or witnessed; the figures are not baseless.

Holocaust denial is ostensibly a punishable offence in Canada (not something I agree with, but that’s another matter). Strangely, however, I very much doubt that Shaukat is going to be charged with anything over this utterance.

September 11, 2001 attack on WTC and Pentagon was an inside terrorist job – conceived by i , and pro-Israel politicians and government officials.

Ah, the conspiracy. Another canard, and again a common staple of Islamic discourse.

There’s other stuff, some of it laugh-out-loud wrong, but these are some of the highlights. I think there’s room for one more, and that’s good…because of all the things Shaukat has asserted about Jews in his latest post, here’s my personal favourite:

Jews have the most powerful Jewish Lobby (AIPAC, ADL, AJC, etc.) in the US - which works for the interests of Zionist Israel instead of the US.

Here I had thought that the Hindu Jewish lobby was the most powerful. It appears, O Reader, that I have been grossly misinformed about the size thereof.

Reader Mail: HRC double jeopardy

tagged , and

ebt writes in with a short answer to my question about human rights commissions and double jeopardy.

The short answer: no. Double jeopardy applies only to criminal prosecution. The proceedings of s are not criminal in nature. Each government is acting to administer some aspect of its own jurisdiction. Thus the HRC was acting with respect to a publication in Ontario; the with respect to distribution of printed material in B.C.; and the federal HRC in respect to distribution over the internet. Three distinct matters, three distinct actions by three distinct authorities. One stinking scandal.

Well, that does clear things up, and yet fails (at the same time) to reassure. What a bloody mess this HRC setup has turned out to be.

Rehmat doesn’t do so well in a debate

tagged , , , and

Jeeze…in the week or so since I last checked with Rehmatpedia, the website of Islamist blogger Shaukat Khawja (himself an employee of the nuclear power plant in , ), it seems that someone has really started taking him to task in his comments forms.

That’s good to see — whoever “Jew” is, he or she doesn’t seem intent on letting Shaukat get away with saying stupid stuff anymore.

rehmat-hijab.jpg

Screenshot for posterity — I can’t imagine Shaukat is going to let the comments stand for very long. It’s an interesting discussion on the mandate for religious headdress in , , and — and of course, the Islamic hijab ends up worse for wear (ahem) in the comparison.

Note also how Shaukat can’t help but try and make insulting comments about Jews, Israel, and/or Zionism.

Update: Called that one, didn’t I? Not two hours, and he’s deleted the comment by “Jew” which gives an effective rebuttal to his silly claims.

Ah, screenshots are wonderful things.

Rehmat resorts to threats now?

tagged and

Blogger Shaukat Khawja — known to many as Rehmat — apparently doesn’t like a Jewish commentator on his site. I’m fully expecting that the comments below will mysteriously disappear within a few hours, so I’ve taken the liberty of taking a screenshot…just for posterity.

rehmat-threat.png

The exchange is interesting, and I have to note that whoever “Jew” is, he asks a question I myself have had as well concerning the blog called Rehmatpedia:

Jew wrote:

Does anyone besides Rehmat post comments to this site?

Rehmat wrote:

Instead of asking question - why did not you post some comment which could put more information on to the subject? If you read the previous posts, you may find comments by other readers beside Rehmat.

However, the bottom line is - no Zionist loose-talk would escape the censor.

Shaukat is rather confident in his spam filter, isn’t he, O Reader?

The exchange continues:

Jew wrote:

I wasn’t here to post information; I was remarking on an otherwise curious trend. Rehmat — the site’s operator — appears to be the only commentator as well. It is strange that this is so.

Also, why mention Zionism?

Rehmat wrote:

As the old saying goes - “Curiousity could kill you.”

There is nothing about Rehmat being posting most of the comments - at least he is honest not to use other IDs, which he could use, as Israeli HASBRA coward operatives are - in order to capture others’ attention to their Zionist lies.

Well - strangely enough - the leaders of Zionist entity - even after 60 years - still insist that their occupation of Palestine be called Jewish State - instead of Zionist State…..even though 99% of Israel’s leaders are committed Atheists, who have nothing to do with Judaism - except they were born to Jewish mothers - and according to Talmudic racist laws - they’re Jews!!

Jew wrote:

How could curiousity kill me, exactly? Is that a threat? Surely Rehmat is not looking to kill a few Yahoud for himself, the better to win favour with Allah?

“Curiousity could kill you.” That’s a rather interesting way to reply to someone expressing a curious fascination with a visible trend. Some might be inclined to interpret such a thing as a death threat, and certainly the Jewish commentator seems to have done so.

Still, despite the seriousness of Shaukat’s statement, there is some comedy to be derived from it. He did rather bork the old saying (”Curiousity killed the cat”), and it is amusing how he utterly fails to actually address the issue of the question posed to him, preferring instead to ramble on about Zionist infiltrators and conspiracies.

Remember, O Reader — this guy works at the nuclear power generation facility in , . If that doesn’t inspire one to sleep soundly at night, I suppose nothing will.

First up: the JOOOOOOOS are behind the recent failure of ’s failed attempt to impeach George W. Bush.

Second: the hijab is under attacked (sic)…and it’s not fair. Jewish and Christian women wear head coverings for the purposes of modesty too…and nobody complains. Why complain about the Islamic headscarf. So what if it’s obligatory?

It’s good to have you back, Rehmat. We missed you.

Rehmatpedia returns

tagged , , , , , , and

Shaukat Khawja’s anti-Zionist, fallacy-fueled website is back on the air web, and is chock-full of all sorts of great anti-Jewish commentary.

For example, O Reader, did you know that Turkish Muslims were not the real criminals in the n genocide? No siree, it was those damn Jews who perpetrated the real crimes against humanity in that episode of history.

Also, don’t forget to check out the cartoon gallery — some great stuff there! Jay, I’m pretty sure you might want to make an addendum to your complaint against this guy.

Actually, I’ve been following some of Shaukat’s online doings just through a series of searches, and it’s been an interesting couple of weeks for the boy since GoDaddy axed IslamUnity.com, his website and forum.

I even found him on the Pravda forums, complaining that a series of websites featuring ic content had been “CENSORED by & Google.”

The exchange was rather hilarious after that point:
