Missing footage from the original Star Wars
August 11, 2008
It’s kinda “old news”, but I’ve never seen it before, and…well…I don’t understand why it was cut out of the first movie in the first place. Not only does it actually make the friendship between Luke Skywalker and Biggs Darklighter…you know…make sense, but it’s just an overall good example of character development.
Oh, wait, character development. That would be why it got cut. Star Wars was a George Lucas movie, after all.
Kid defends mother with toy lightsaber
January 4, 2008
First it was that kid in a Spidey costume who saved a girl from the burning building. I almost like this story, from Norwich, England, better:
An 11-year-old boy demonstrated The Force when he defended his mom by hitting an attacker with a toy lightsaber.
The man, in his 30s, fled after being confronted by the youngster outside a bakery in Swardeston, near Norwich, England.
Police said the boy hit the man with his toy after the man had punched and verbally abused his mother as she approached her car.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the Dec. 22 attack.
Allan Jennings of the Norfolk Police said: “The incident caused quite a commotion and it is unlikely it would have gone unnoticed.”
You don’t mess with Luke Skywalker’s mother. Ever. It’s a shame that the police haven’t caught this areshole just yet, but how humiliating was his defeat, eh? Big, tough, woman-hitting man gets beaten back by a pre-teen with a glorified plastic tube.
