Another shot of the bride and groom, this time sharing a contemplative moment during a speech by, I believe, the bride’s parents.

Grace’s talent for decorating wedding cakes is on full display in this image. Both of these were decorated by her.
The effect of the Lensbaby is fully visible in this shot. And yes, I decided it was fully appropriate to use the heart-shaped aperture for a wedding.
This is a Lensbaby shot of a typical table setting and centrepiece at Kate & John’s wedding. The white balance is a bit “off”, mostly due (I suspect) to the fact that the room was lit by flourescent lights, while the windows letting in the natural light all had yellow glass panes on them.
This is a Lensbaby shot down the length of the head table at the wedding reception. This is one of the few images where I’ve pushed Lightroom’s ‘Clarity’ tool up to its maximum positive value, and it brought out the plates quite nicely against the similarly-coloured tablecloth.
The third good shot I came away with at Richard and Ginny’s wedding is from the bouquet toss. Initially, I had thought I’d ruined the shot — not every Lensbaby picture is going to be a hit — but some creative tweaking in Lightroom gave it a rather…odd…flare. It has a kind of gritty appearance, as one might see in a photo taken at a concert.
Here’s another shot from Richard and Ginny’s wedding, kept deliberately out of focus so as to take full advantage of the Lensbaby’s heart-shaped aperture plate. One can still identify the piano in the scene, but the flames of the candles set atop it have become something very different, and yet remain relevant to the theme of a wedding.
Here is a shot from the wedding of our friend Eamon to his fiancé, Heather. While I could say more about how the reception turned out, I did manage to at least get a few good Lensbaby shots off. The heart-shaped aperture seemed a natural choice for this sort of event.
This is Grace’s grandparents over-anthropomorphized pet dog, Penny. And while the attentive Reader will know that I’m no fan of dogs, this one does occasionally take a good picture — even through a Lensbaby.
Grace’s dad’s oyster recipe at its completion: salsa and cheese adorn the shellfish and make for a very tasty snack indeed. The Lensbaby adds some visual flare to the shot.
Grace’s dad’s oyster recipe begins by putting the oysters “on the half shell” right onto the grill. This was a Lensbaby shot.
