Pic of the Day #36

The Rover Crew curls every Thursday evening at the in during the fall/winter months. Usually, I can’t make it because of work and whatnot.

But today I managed to catch a bus south from work and got there in time to take some pictures. Most of the photos I took will become material for the annual slideshow I prepare for the Scout group every February. But this one picture, I thought, was worth posting.

Where was this taken?

Not much else to say. I hate shooting under the harsh flourescent lights in that arena, because invaraibly the colour balance of the shot is horribly off. Still, this one recovered passably, and I’m hoping the rest will turn out as good or better. The blessing of RAW photography, I suppose, is the flexibility I have in “after the fact” photo editing/processing.

Pic of the Day #25

I spent most of the day at a Scout camp helping other members of my Rover crew run an obstacle course. We used to run the camp every year — this year, because of logistical issues, we turned the camp over to another group instead.

And so our group, the 59th Edmonton, was able to approach this usually stressful time of year with an air of relaxation and fun.

And our Scouts, who were competing in the events at this camp, had this really nice sign hanging from a tree in their campsite.
