Reader Mail: Drive Christianity underground
August 8, 2008
makarios writes in with a comment on this article, which concerned the suggestion by an atheistic British journalist that Religion — Christianity in particular — should be cut out of the public eye and de-legitimized in public life. In essence, his contention was that religion should be driven underground, where it could wither and die.
Because that worked so well when the Romans tried it.
Anyhow, makarios remarks thusly:
Good post. My advice? Don’t worry. We win.
Indeed. I do believe it is the Shaidle
who is fond of saying as much: Christians have already won (in Jesus Christ); we just need to live out our days in style.
Update: Welcome, Steynians!
