Here’s a shot of the other ferry docked in the terminal alongside ours, taken as our ferry began its trip back to Vancouver.
What I love about this image is the way the churning, bubbling, aqua-coloured wake of our ferry slashes across the frame, cutting in to the darker blue of the waters of Departure Bay.
Edit-wise, I spent a tad more time on this shot, apart from what could be called the “usual” edits that I make to most photos. Yes, chromatic aberration and digital noise were corrected for, but I also adjusted the saturations of the blue and aqua colour channels quite heavily, to amplify the contrast between the two tones in the water.
