Yet another picture from the yard at Grace’s grandparents’ house.
As has been the case in some other shots in this set, the ISO for this picture was set a bit higher due to the amount of shade case about by the stand of very old trees in the yard. As a result, more noise reduction was needed on the shot. In spite of that, Lightroom managed to preserve most of the fine detail in the shot, and the on-export sharpening seems to have intensified things just a bit. I continue to be impressed by the improvements apparent in Lightroom 2.
Edit-wise, apart from what was already mentioned, I adjusted the green, red, and magenta saturations a little bit to bring out some of the details in this shot, but for the most part it stands on its own. Flowers make obliging subjects, and are often very intricate and beautiful (and thus fun to shoot). Certainly that is the case here.
