I’ve Moved!
November 20, 2008
So I’m sure that most people have noticed that the site has been offline for a few days. There’s a reason for that, which I will get to shortly. But first, let me just say this:
In fact, I am blogging at a new site I have just finished setting up: kennethhynek.net. A full explanation for the reasons behind the move can be found here
.
That said, this is not the end of Time Immortal. My wife Grace has expressed interest in taking over blogging at this domain, and I am working to make sure that she gets set up here as soon as possible.
Also, my profound apologies for the modification to the site face; the move was not as seamless as I would have hoped, and many of the image files for this theme, and in the gallery, were corrupted during the course of their evacuation from my previous web host’s servers. Until such time as I have repaired them, I’ve put a clean-looking template in place of the previous one.
Update: for the purposes of further traffic shaping, new posts from kennethhynek.net will be excerpted below. Full articles can be read at the new blog.
Various and sundry
May 30, 2007
Yeah, I really don’t feel like blogging today, so here’s a round-up of stuff that caught my eye on my morning stroll through the newsfeeds.
Various climate lobby groups are apparently quite angry with the federal Conservative government’s climate change plan. Money quote:
“This government is not free to cut and run from its international obligations,” said Friends of the Earth spokesman Christine Elwell. “You can’t just do what you want. You have laws. You have obligations.”
Ms. Elwell will probably be disappointed to learn that Canada is actually quite free to cut and run from its international obligations, because the U.N. has not (yet) supplanted the legitimate government of the nation. Canada is not obligated by law to honour any international commitment which will be detrimental to the economic growth of the country.
Also, Microsoft seems to have made something quite cool, a table-top computer system. Very high tech, very futuristic…and boy, I cannot wait to see what its ‘blue screen’ looks like.
Also, I’ve started writing again, and have re-imaged the story’s website into my online information database. If science fiction is within the realm of your interest, O Reader, do swing by and have a look from time to time…as I progress in this latest iteration of the idea I’ve held on to and revised many times since my teen years, I’ll be updating the Human Ascendence website quite frequently in order to maintain continuity (because you can’t expect me to keep all that stuff just in my head!).
