So could a heterosexual nightclub ban homoxesuals from entering?
Strangely, I doubt there will be any uproar about heterophobia in the wake of the nightclub’s new policy.
But it really does get me wondering…could a nightclub declare itself to be “heterosexuals only” and get away with it? One assumes that people who demand a right would be able to respect someone else who chose to exercise the same right in a different, but analogous, way. Somehow, though, I get the feeling that the concept wouldn’t fly…protests and court challenges being the inevitable result.
Which, of course, begs the question as to why it’s right that this nightclub is allowed to enforce such a blatantly discriminatory entrance policy. Not that I would be particularly anxious to be a patron, mind you…but as a matter of principle, it is a discriminatory thing, and I wonder what makes that right?
