I’ve Moved!

November 20, 2008

So I’m sure that most people have noticed that the site has been offline for a few days. There’s a reason for that, which I will get to shortly. But first, let me just say this:

I AM NO LONGER BLOGGING HERE

In fact, I am blogging at a new site I have just finished setting up: kennethhynek.net. A full explanation for the reasons behind the move can be found here.

That said, this is not the end of . My wife has expressed interest in taking over blogging at this domain, and I am working to make sure that she gets set up here as soon as possible.

Also, my profound apologies for the modification to the site face; the move was not as seamless as I would have hoped, and many of the image files for this theme, and in the gallery, were corrupted during the course of their evacuation from my previous web host’s servers. Until such time as I have repaired them, I’ve put a clean-looking template in place of the previous one.

Update: for the purposes of further traffic shaping, new posts from kennethhynek.net will be excerpted below. Full articles can be read at the new blog.

New galleries online

February 14, 2007

As the reader may notice in the “random” and “latest” image displays in the sidebar, I have gone and added a number of pictures to the gallery, and will be adding more as time rolls on; I’ve got entirely too much web space left, and I figure I might as well make use of it passionately chasing a hobby I enjoy greatly.

The first new gallery is the “Sunrises & Sunsets” gallery. Sources of light are a favourite photographic subject of mine, the sun especially so. Although of late there haven’t been any compelling sunrises or sunsets to take pictures of, in the last few months there have been several, all of which are chronicled here. Sunrises feature prominently, as my current place of residence affords me a relatively unobstructed eastward view, which can be exceptionally useful on those mornings when the sun and clouds conspire to create beauty.

The second gallery is called “Nature”, and involves pictures of plants, water, and other things in the great outdoors. It’s not quite as large a gallery as the sunrise/sunset gallery, because plants are not as common a subject for me. However, this gallery does contain some of my favourite pictures, including a few that adorn the site occasionally in the rotating header image.

The last gallery is called “Edmonton”, and its content should be fairly self-evident. It is the largest of the new galleries (or, at least, the public-viewable ones), as in recent months I’ve been trying, especially, to compose a few panoramic shots of the city from various angles. You’ll find both wide vistas and more detail-focused pictures in here.

Note (for certain people only): there are other galleries as well that have been added, and if I have given you a password then please take a moment to enjoy them too.
