I’ve Moved!

November 20, 2008

So I’m sure that most people have noticed that the site has been offline for a few days. There’s a reason for that, which I will get to shortly. But first, let me just say this:

I AM NO LONGER BLOGGING HERE

In fact, I am blogging at a new site I have just finished setting up: kennethhynek.net. A full explanation for the reasons behind the move can be found here.

That said, this is not the end of . My wife has expressed interest in taking over blogging at this domain, and I am working to make sure that she gets set up here as soon as possible.

Also, my profound apologies for the modification to the site face; the move was not as seamless as I would have hoped, and many of the image files for this theme, and in the gallery, were corrupted during the course of their evacuation from my previous web host’s servers. Until such time as I have repaired them, I’ve put a clean-looking template in place of the previous one.

Update: for the purposes of further traffic shaping, new posts from kennethhynek.net will be excerpted below. Full articles can be read at the new blog.

Pic of the Day #119

January 17, 2007

So in the Mixed Chorus office, we had a really crappy printer.  I say “had” because, well, as you can see…

…so it would seem that, over the Christmas break, some people who shall remain nameless replaced the printer, took the old one and (I’m led to believe) heaved it unceremoniously off the top of a nearby parkade.  And now it’s just sitting there, mangled and in pieces, waiting for…well, I don’t know what.  I would have thought the grounds crews would have fixed it up by now, but…well…evidently not.

Another low light shot for me — I seem to be racking them up, lately.  High ISO allowed for a moderate shutter speed (1/60th of a second at full aperture on my 50mm lens).  The colour, unfortunately, isn’t quite right, but I’ve struggled for months to properly normalize the colour of a scene under the intense campus pathway lights, and I can’t seem to ever get it quite right.

Where was this taken?
