I’ve Moved!
November 20, 2008
So I’m sure that most people have noticed that the site has been offline for a few days. There’s a reason for that, which I will get to shortly. But first, let me just say this:
In fact, I am blogging at a new site I have just finished setting up: kennethhynek.net. A full explanation for the reasons behind the move can be found here
.
That said, this is not the end of Time Immortal. My wife Grace has expressed interest in taking over blogging at this domain, and I am working to make sure that she gets set up here as soon as possible.
Also, my profound apologies for the modification to the site face; the move was not as seamless as I would have hoped, and many of the image files for this theme, and in the gallery, were corrupted during the course of their evacuation from my previous web host’s servers. Until such time as I have repaired them, I’ve put a clean-looking template in place of the previous one.
Update: for the purposes of further traffic shaping, new posts from kennethhynek.net will be excerpted below. Full articles can be read at the new blog.
A new year, a new blog!
January 3, 2007
While I can only partly explain away my lengthy absence (a brief posting on December 30th, 2006, to reassure you, O Reader, that I am still alive…and before that a posting on December 19th, 2006) by saying that I have been working on this new website, that is indeed a large portion of what has been keeping my busy and away from the site. This is not, as was the case the last time I switched my blog in a drastic manner, simply a case of a switch from one iteration of Mambo to another. No, far from it…this is a switch from Mambo to Wordpress. Fundamentally, it is a change not only in the blog itself, but in how I as a blogger approach that which I do on this site.
The site’s not quite done yet…I still have to get the gallery implemented properly, which may take a few days. But most of the other features are in place (except my “verse of the day” plugin and my “Chesterton quote machine”, the latter of which will be an easy port).
But for the most part it’s up and running! So take a look around at what is indeed here, and check back! Blogging should resume its normal pace (more or less) from here on in, and I’ll be adding items from the old sites as well, as time permits. And I’ve got more than a week’s worth of Pictures of the Day yet to add to the side, so look forward to that as well!
